Alfred Vickers, Sr. (English, 1786 - 1868), oil on wood panel of two figures on a path walking toward a rural English cottage; signed "A. Vickers" lower-left corner. Panel measures 11" x 9" and as framed 14" x 12"
SPECIAL CONDITION NOTE: This painting is by far the oldest painting in our collection. As often happens to wood panels that are nearing 200 years old, the panel is partially split, in this case vertically along the line of the tree trunk in the foreground. Although we do not believe this split significantly degrades the aesthetic appeal of this early 19th century painting, please carefully examine all photos and do not purchase this painting before making your own determination in this regard.
