ATTRIBUTION NOTE: Sven Carlson was a great admirer of Frederick Judd Waugh and was known to sign his seascapes "waugh carlson" in honor of one of the great American seascape painters. (Although not salvageable, also see the sketch purposefully left open for examination on the backside of this painting.)
