American Modernist (early-mid 20th century), regionalist oil on canvas painting of vase, potted plant, pear, and books stacked on a side table, unsigned. Inscribed on the back in pencil as a gift (presumably by the artist) in Charleston, West Virginia and dated 1946. Canvas stretcher measures 20" x 16"; currently unframed.
